How amazing would it be to have the ability to review documents specific to patient accounts and claims from a designated workqueue within an RCM billing application? Now, with our Document Management module, laboratories have an integrated solution to reduce the amount of time spent:

  • Organizing appeal packages and posting payer remittances,
  • Posting patient and client payments, and
  • Correcting missing patient and transaction information.

Using the Document Management module, users can review documents in an integrated and organized manner to help improve the efficiency of laboratory billing from the front-end account and transaction error resolution all the way to claim error review and payment posting.

Here are three ways the TELCOR RCM Document Management module can streamline the process of working various aspects of your revenue cycle.

1. Enhance your front-end error review processes
When an account comes into TELCOR RCM with missing patient or insurance information, billers can update the missing or invalid information directly from the applicable Workqueue or Express Account Entry while viewing the document in a separate window. When multiple records are selected, the documentation updates as you navigate from account to account. Additionally, this applies to transaction errors in the Error Workqueue, too. A missing diagnosis can be reviewed with the associated requisition. With the information readily available to users, time spent correcting errors is drastically reduced.

2. Improve efficiency around working claim remittance and correspondence
Not all payers have the ability to send electronic remittances. They may also manually send daily claim correspondence with pertinent information centered around the status of submitted claims. These create situations where reviewing documents feels like a never-ending cycle. This manual process is cumbersome because the billing team must enter claim information from loose papers alongside the account or claim in the RCM solution.

With the Document Management module, these documents are automatically assigned to the respective accounts and claims providing easy access to posting manual remittance or working claims in error. Moving from remittance to remittance or claim to claim is easy. Required documents are available for review with each new payment or correspondence.

3. Automatically compile and generate appeal packages with ease and accuracy
One of the goals of the Document Management module is to simplify and provide efficiencies to creating appeal packages in order to reduce costly time spent performing these tasks.

With document types assigned to scanned documents, TELCOR RCM compiles packages based on date of service, claim number, accession number and other defined fields. This allows our behind-the-scenes processing to evaluate how packages need to be collated and packaged to provide the most accurate appeal package to your payers. Once the appeal package is created, users can easily review associated documents prior to printing the appeal package. With this efficiency, billers focus their attention on areas of need within your revenue cycle because the TELCOR RCM application is now doing all of the heavy lifting.
