United Healthcare announced Sept. 1 it is eliminating 30 percent of prior authorization requirements for certain plans.
Affected plans include commercial plans, Medicare Advantage Plans, Community Plans, Individual Exchange Plans, and Oxford Plans. The elimination of these prior authorization requirements is effective Oct. 1 and is intended “to help reduce administrative work [and] remove barriers that can delay care,” according to UnitedHealthcare.
Lists of CPT codes no longer requiring prior authorization can be found here and are organized according to plan.
