Device Connectivity
QML® receives and reports results from 160+ different device types that perform testing outside the traditional lab setting: bedside, ambulatory, standalone ED units, clinics, and physician offices.
TELCOR has been trusted over the last 30 years by more than 57% of the U.S. hospitals to support their ever-growing point of care testing programs both inside and outside the walls of the hospitals. This is why TELCOR is Everything, Everywhere Point of Care.
QML® receives and reports results from 160+ different device types that perform testing outside the traditional lab setting: bedside, ambulatory, standalone ED units, clinics, and physician offices.
QML delivers real-time visibility through alerts, dashboards, and targeted result exceptions. It also streamlines operator management with flexible certifications and automated recertification.
QML automates operator, patient, order, and result workflows by pulling data from LMS, HRIS, HIS/EMR, and LIS systems. This removes manual entry, keeps records current, and supports all result types across multiple systems.
Point of Care testing device come in all different shapes, sizes, configurations, and capabilities each unique to their intended use. TELCOR builds custom communication and setup modules for each device type to accommodate all of their unique characteristics, and then brings all disparate results together into a common middleware platform for ease of management and use. Some customers may have one device type and some have more than 20 different device types used throughout their organization.
QML brings disparate device type results together along with data from the host systems to complete the point of care picture. It provides unlimited data mining, patient and QC result management, comprehensive reporting for statistics and metrics, and hundreds of configuration options allowing each QML system to be configured to meet the unique requirements of each customer’s point of care testing program. It also features automated alerts, dashboards, management by exception, automated operator and patient lists to devices, operator testing privileges and certification tracking.
Extensive integration with host systems unique to each customer include ADT, Order, Result, and eLearning interfaces that run unattended 24 x 7 x 365. ADT and Order interfaces validate patient IDs entered on the device before sending results to the LIS/EMR. Unvalidated patient IDs remain in QML for review, resolution and resending. Solicited and Unsolicited Result interfaces then electronically send results to the LIS/EMR for posting to either an existing order or creation of a new order with automatic result posting. eLearning updates competency records from the Learning Management System (LMS) and/or an Human Resource Information System (HRIS) to seamlessly and automatically be included in an operator’s recertification process.

Not all POC middleware vendors deliver the same depth, flexibility, or long-term value. While many appear similar on the surface, their differences become clear once you look at how they handle device independence, data volume, automation, scalability, and support. It’s worth evaluating every factor that affects growth and day-to-day operations rather than focusing only on price.

TELCOR QML centralizes, automates, and controls every aspect of point of care testing across multiple hospitals, health systems, and even different working locations. QML directly captures test results from POC devices and sends validated results automatically to the LIS/EMR without manual entry. QML brings everything together into one secure and centralized platform.
Every point of care program is looking for the ability to improve efficiency and decrease errors when managing operator certification and training information. QML offers flexibility in certification configurations as well as a single point of documentation for point of care tests whether connected or not. Configurations for the certification process can be defined to meet standards per facility, location, and/or device type. QML also allows for certifications to be managed manually or through an auto-recertification process. This process will re-certify operators automatically after meeting the defined requirements, eliminating the need to review and certify each operator manually.
With TELCOR QML you can manage patient results, QC data, operator activity, and reporting in one system. This eliminates manual tracking and provides a single platform overseeing your point of care program.
With QML, you can:
Manage patient and QC results from all devices and locations.
Review and correct result exceptions before they reach the LIS/EMR.
Control and monitor operator certifications and access.
Generate reports and audit data automatically.
Use easy menu-based navigation to manage tasks without complex workflows.
TELCOR QML safeguards patient, operator, and QC data with controlled access, encrypted communication, and complete audit tracking to protect sensitive information across all locations.
The system ensures only authorized users can view or manage data, and every change or result is captured for accountability and compliance.
Security features include:
Role-based access control to limit who can view, edit, or release results.
Real-time operator authentication to prevent unauthorized testing.
Encrypted data transmission for all interfaces between devices, QML, LIS/EMR, and external facilities.
Full audit trails documenting every result, review, change, or operator action.
Centralized visibility for secure oversight of devices, QC, and testing.
Automatic lockouts for expired or unapproved operators and non-compliant devices.
TELCOR supports a wide range of device types. These include glucose meters, blood gas analyzers, urinalysis devices, coagulation systems, and more. We are the one true open middleware vendor not owned by a device or LIS vendor. Your health systems can choose any device types for your facilities.
