It is important to have the most up-to-date coding loaded in the system to process medical claims and reduce denial rates. With COVID-19 continuing to spread, the number of claims continues to increase. To help keep those claims processing and paying, there are six new diagnosis codes being added to ICD-10 related to COVID-19. These diagnosis codes will be effective Jan. 1, 2021 and are listed as: Z11.52, Z20.822, Z86.16, M35.81, M35.89, J12.82.
